All kidding aside, from lead paint to random deaths, you had quite a second half of '07. I've never spent much time in Statesville (it's really just the junction b/t here and Charlotte for most around here). FWIW, I grew up in Los Angeles County before coming to Wake Forest in '91. I've truly come to love living in NC (and being the underdog politically!).
